In 1985 Rene A J Bourassa became involved with Project Phoenix, a men’s resource center of the Coastal Bend. He joined the Texas Council of Family Violence.

In November 1985, Mr. Bourassa sponsored the first Batterers Anonymous Group in Texas. This was a program for men designed to help them communicate their anger in a positive manor.

In August 1990 Mr. Bourassa founded the A.I. R. (Anger-Insight-Resolution) program. Its purpose is to help women and men communicate their anger issues and deal with rage problems. The meetings are held weekly.

In 1994, he wrote and published an anger workbook, which has been used through out the country. In the last 22 years, he has conducted over 17,000 lectures and groups on anger.

Among them are: The National Convention of Parents of Murdered Children, 1991; the Texas Council on Family Violence, 1988-1990-1991; The Texas Child Abuse Conference, November, 1992; The National Family Outreach Convention, October 1993; Oasis Program 1993; Various Police department, Colleges, Schools, department of the Navy, Coast Guard, Army, Church groups and Civil Service Employees.

On June 22th, 2002, Rene A J Bourassa completed an Anger Resolution Therapist Certification course.
